Not even 30 pages in and this book has already committed the cardinal sin of telling me the FMC’s personality without *really* showing it to me. One scene of her killing a vampire isn’t a substitute for actual character establishment. It’s not that I think Oraya is a bad character, but I would have loved to actually get to know her myself, rather than just being told what to think by the book.
