"So your lying to your mom now too?"

Ellie and Quinn had a secret kept to themselves which is affecting their lives and now Quinn is mad because Ellie didn't came clean with it.

"How 'd he first starting emailing you? And really, how could you not tell me you were writing love letters to someone?"

So she is trying to understand who is writing this email and were going to investigate who this mysterious figure is this.

"Her father was a U.S senator now, and a serious contender for the Republican nomination in the next presidential race."

This quote is telling me that the father of Ellie O' Neil is the U.S. senator.

“Maybe growing up was really nothing more than growing away: from your old life, from your old self, from all those things that kept you tethered to your past.”

I really like this chapter because its been getting me into grown up stuff and when we change one an young age to an older age.

"The program was impossible to get into, and Ellie had only applied on a whim after seeing a flyer taped to be bulletin board of her classroom, never thinking she might be chosen."

This is about Ellie trying to go to the hardest but smartest school which is Harvard. Eventually she gets chosen surprising and it was on the school's bulentin board.

"When Ellie had started taking shifts at Sprinkles a few months earlier, Mom wasn't thrilled about it."

The chapter "This Is What Happy Looks Like" is about Ellie had trouble spacing out school and her job at Sprinkles so its going to be a lot easier for her now than before because its going to be a lot stressful for her life.

"But what nobody ever told him was that once something like this happens to you, there's no going back." (Smith 41)

What this quote means to me is that when he was in Hollywood there was nobody to guide him to help him what to do so he was lost.

" Behind her, there was a loud click and a sputter, followed by a thick glugging sound, and when Ellie spun to see what was happening, it was to find the aftermath of a chocolate milkshake explosion."

What this quote explains to me is that when Ellie was giving an ice cream to the boy she heard sounds and it sounded weird so she went to check out what was happening. Boom the milkshake machine exploded.
