Claire's not in 18th century Scotland for 8 hours before she's being sexually harassed/assault, could somebody not have told Diana Gabaldon to fucking CHILL on this issue? Like WE GET IT, do something else with the story. I'd wager lice were loads more common than rape but Claire encounters parasite infestations with far less frequency so you can't argue realism for this happening over and over in these books.
