I was worried this book wouldn't live up to VITA NOSTRA (as if anything could) but opening with Sasha spending 10+ years in a time loop watching her alternate self (created by her advisor as a failsafe should she fail her placement exam) die over and over again, only to finally see her advisor again, be told she gets one chance to redo that placement exam and transcend human existence, and going Okay ✅ that's my girl
