Good chunk read today, will finish this tomorrow. While this book hasn't got me excited or made me fall in love, it has been consistently great and will probably get an easy 4. The characters, the world, and the prose all make me excited to read the trilogy that follows.

This is really good. The characters feel realistic and are very likable. The world seems intriguing and yet imaginable. I can see why Mark Lawrence gave this a 5 and it has such a high average rating.

Good start. Both main characters seem interesting and likable, the setting of a haunted lighthouse near the edge of the world is intriguing. Prose is also very strong.
