Near the end of the first book, transhumans were running rampant and doing what was necessary for their survival and for their main objective. They had no regard for life, and did just what they had to do. This goes to show that when we remove/alter the humanity of a being, it cares only for what it was programmed to do. In their minds, it's very ethical, but to us it's not, that's the problem with technology.

The way Dan Abnett has been writing makes it seem as though there is something more sinister going on that we don't know about. The near lack of details about the empty 'meat vats,' the ice warriors asking about new weapons, and the Morphans restricting Rory from going into the Incrypt. I think it might be Daleks, but it could be anything. The way Dan portrays this is stunning, and I am absolutely enthralled by it.

The way Dan Abnett writes this story is amazing, in my opinion. He doesn't go all out on dialogue, but he doesn't just ditch it. There's a steady balance in the way he writes. Often times, he'll write about a very dramatic event and then switch to another person's point of view. This is enrapturing as I don't want to put down the book, but rather find out what happens. Overall, Dan Abnett's writing has been amazing.

Often times the Doctor is just a legend. Something that people believe in when they need something to look to in their time of need. Then there are those who hate the Doctor. They see the Doctor as someone who committed heinous acts against them and their species. Overall, the doctor is a person that inspires hope in those with very little left. When people need help he gives it to them, just like in religion.

Of course, people don't care that these higher powers have never made a real appearance, they still believe. They want a beacon of hope, something to look to in the dark, and that's why across all platforms there are figureheads to give hope to those who need it. Of course, the Doctor does help very much, but there are times where he just brings attention to the problem rather than legitimately assisting.

Of course, it's possible that the Doctor isn't the one to directly save everyone, and people are often lost among the way, but he's still that knight in shining armor to the people. We see these different types of heroes all the time. We can even spot them in religion. Higher powers that people believe in even though that higher power has never shown itself to them or directly assisted them in some way.

Then the Doctor comes in. As usual, the Doctor comes in with his companion and is ready to save the innocent people from whatever goes bump in the night. Switching back to reality, there's always the hero. The person who comes along as a figure for media to display as their only hope against whatever terrible thing might be coming. The Doctor is a beacon of hope, a hero, a leader for the little guys.

The way I see it is that wolf packs stand as a metaphor for an army. This organized group of people that's been trained to kill for the survival of what they believe is right is very similar to a pack of wolves. Throw a pack of wolves into a dark forest and give them red eyes, a snarl, and the intent to kill and you have a metaphor for an army willing to do anything for their cause, including killing innocent people.

Dan Abnett writes about a planet that is populated by Morphans. In the woods near where the Morphans live, a dark creature lurks. Red eyes, a vicious snarl, everything to describe a violent wolf creature. The question here is why. Why does the author use that specific description for a beast that lurks in a dark forest? Wolves are animals that often move in packs. They're organized and ready to kill if necessary.
