Dave was woken up int he night by Mr. Meltzer and he said someone was here. He walked out and it was Solly. Solly told Mr. Meltzer that he was his Grandpa. He picked up Dave and they left for the party. I would've done the same thing that Solly did.

Dave snuck down to the basement to find a rope to escape for Irma Lee's party. He cut the rope and was sneaking upstairs and waited awhile for Mr. Meltzer to go away. It happened and Dave got inside. Harvey and Mike had a plan and covered for Dave. If I were Mike, I would be helping my friend sneak back in and be safe. I would've created a plan like he did also.

Dave was writing a letter to his dad. Dave was trying to sneak downstairs to try and find a rope to sneak out the window for Irma Lee's party tomorrow because he promised her he'd be there. If I were Dave I would be doing the same thing because I wouldn't want to let Irma Lee down.

Dave was in art class with all of his cuts and sores. He was drawing and it turned out very bad and it was shown to the class. When they were leaving they thought Mr. Doom was coming so they all scattered. I can relate to Dave because I'm bad at art too and if I heard an abusive theif coming, I would also scatter.

Dave was trying to sneak back inside the HHB. Mr. Meltzer caught him and brought him to Mr. Doom. He was beating up Dave and he had huge cuts everywhere. He saw his dad's carving in Mr. Dooms office. If I were Dave, I would tell an adult so Mr. Doom would get arrested and steal his dad's carving back.

Dave found out that Solly lives on the same street as his old house. I think that Dave will eventually sneak o Solly's house, and he will see Ida or Gideon.

Dave met a girl while he was out at night. he got a lot of good meals and met many new people. If I were the girl he met, I would tell Dave to go back to the HHB and for them to adopt him.

Dave snuck out of the HHB (Hebrew Home for Boys) at night. Mr. Meltzer was asleep in a chair. Dave snuck past him, went down the pitch black stairs, and made it outside. He climbed a tree to get over the fence and he was free. I think that if I were Dave, I would sneak out and try to find Ida or Gideon if I knew how to get there.

Dave's mom died when he was born, and his dad just recently dies. His uncle was willing to take his brother Gideon and not him and now, he has a struggle of where he's going to live. I think Ida (his step mom) is going to take him to an orphanage. I also think that something will happen to his uncle, and that Gideon will live in an orphanage to.
