The author makes the reader feel like they are actually there by giving clear, detailed descriptions about the surrounding. In this case, the author is gives us personal accounts which make the setting feel very real. He uses realistic descriptions and gives minute details which adds to the story. An author, in general, also pleases the senses of (smell sight) by writing things that appeal to them

If I were able to go into my book the first thing I would do is warn the author about the dangers that are about the come. Since he is about to climb Mount Everest and does not know that there is a large storm about to hit, I would warn him about it and save him and his friends' lives

The protagonist is similar to me in some ways. For one he is always thinking and observing the surrounding (which is what saves him from the storm). He is also empathetic like me and worries about what the climbers must be facing. He thinks about the choices he made a lot and imagines the various outcomes that could have been if he had done something else.

The theme in the book is not to underestimate mother nature. When climbers disregard the severity of an incoming storm they face blizzard-like conditions while on top of Everest. The author delivers this theme as he looks back on the incident and shows the mistakes and hardships of the climbers once the storm hits.. This delivery is effective as the author is able to provide minute details from the time.
