The lives between Marie Laure and Werner are starting to cross each other in ways that they don't even realize. The story jumps between certain time periods so it's a little bit confusing at first, but once you start to see the connections between them, it actually becomes very enjoyable to read.

So far, the only characters who appeared in this book are Marie-Laure and Werner Pfennig. Yet, the author is already creating a mood and describing their actions in a way that makes the readers want to read more and be curious about what will happen.
