Mr Rochester complaining to Jane (the 19 year old he is trying to persuade to marry him) that he was way too young and inexperienced when he got married (at age 20ish) and that’s the reason he hates his current wife (an insane woman he has secretly been hiding in the attic) and why he is so unhappy.
