Lord Branfoot is horrible. Kim switching side is no surprise but still disappointing. She is also horrible. Kim betrayed Strike and Robin by using what she knew about the client to blackmail them. It sounds like she is confident that she could ruin the agency. All is not loss when Strike found out something important.

Bijou Watkins character represents real women that I had a hard time being friend with. Dating married men or men already in long term relationship. And do things to manipulate the man to leave the wife and be with them. Selfish. Shallow and full of….

P.S.: The fact that Robin isn't terribly enthusiastic about house hunting suggests she doesn't really love the guy - or at least not enough and not in that way - to make it a permanent arrangement.

Robin treated Murphy as a love interest. And hide part of herself to avoid conflict. That is the strategy part of it that make it more difficult for Murphy to know Robin as a whole person.
Strike know Robin as a coworker, and he know how she can handle herself. This is from this understanding that he starts to have feeling for her. And Strike know the whole person, and not just the best bits she show her lovers.
If only Robin can tell Murphy that she can show more of herself, take risk while being afraid, that he could appreciate her more as a professional PI.
