Cormac McCarthy’s refusal to use quotation marks (and other punctuation) is a really bold choice. I’m kind of conflicted on it so far; on one hand it really immerses you into the story, but on the other, it is kind of hard to follow at times. Other than that I’m enjoying the groundwork being laid here. When the judge said, “I never laid eyes on the man before today.” I think I got chills.
