4 chapters in and we've already had a defense of slavery (including a Biblical defense), a misunderstanding of COTUS, *and* Confederate apologism. Seriously, it's all straight out of the Neo-Confederate Defense playbook. I wonder if Mr. Sadler would be pleased with this?

Pro tip: If I'm reading a book about Casca the Eternal Mercenary, I would like to read about, well, Casca. Not a Confederate Apologist's countless paragraphs about the Slaver's Insurrection and how smart and brave the traitors were. C-A-S-C-A. This ain't rocket science!!!

Ah, all the already poorly written spurned love interest needed to complete her brainwashing was a good dicking. Sheesh.

Apparently, now Casca *cannot* get blisters. Author should make up his mind. Maybe he's too busy trying to decide when to actually describe the bad guys s twirling their mustaches while laughing manically. Either way, I'm pretty sure he's got a Writing Cliche Checklist that he's running down in order.

Could this family be any more cookie cutter? And why is this guy using more than one book to tell a chronological story? Has he even read any Casca?

I am pretty sure that if Casca can scar, then he should get calluses, not blisters on his feet after 1800 years of soldiering.
