i still cannot tell how much distance there is between the characters and the writer, but she’s having two main characters say stuff like “let👏 women 👏 be 👏 feminine 👏” and “there’s NO femme lesbian representation in media” WHILE ALSO CONSTANTLY REFERENCING THE L WORD? i do kinda feel like i’m going crazy and am starting to feel like that wasn’t Dorn’s intention.

there's no doubt that this protagonist is Annoying. she bothers me for all the reasons that "Girls Can Kiss Now" bothered me: wealthy white cis femme4femme lesbian with little thought or care toward other perspectives on lesbianism. and i think it's safe to assume that this character is written this way purposefully! but i feel like i'm still waiting for a hint of weight and meat and meaning here.
