man this book sucks
imagine reading the pov of a upper middle class older white man who accidentally stumbled upon the fact poppies contained opium while it was being banned and questions the legality of the “illicit drugs” he has grown…. knowing they contained drugs. then judging a guy in lower class for also growing them and getting caught? it’s a journal article. literally from 1997. it sucks
