I’ve been reading this since September. Slow going but it’s enjoyable so far. The language is beautiful (as is for most of Joyce’s novels) . The tone is extremely melodramatic, which makes sense for this coming from the perspective of a lonely sensitive child, but at times I find my self ambivalent to that tone.
