Been enjoying reading this. The Duke, Paul and Hallack are well written for their archetypes. I fear Paul is a bit of a Mary Sue but it's based in the world of his mothers training and that of royal training so it's not ridiculous. They just saw their first crawler and worm in the desert which was a super engaging sequence. It revealed much about the Dukes character (caring more about his men than spice or equipment)

Major spoilers: what an oddly revealing chapter. Now I don't usually enjoy being told instead of shown what is going on but the density of this book I appreciate it. The Baron is Jessica's father (inbred apparently) and Paul's grandfather. Which he learns upon awakening, he now can see the future and all it's possibilities due to his bloodline and intermingling with the spice? Still not clear on that part. Big twist
