This feels exactly like the sort of thing I'd expect from Jerome Hamon. It's weird. It takes no time to get you settled. You're just dropped in and expected to keep up. I do wish his comics had more still moments in them, but I think that's not an issue with this, but rather with comics in general. Manga never has this issue, but I encounter it regularly in comics.
