I became to dislike Naoko and after few pages after a told myself I like Midori I found out she is to strange to me. I think I came to like Tori which is strange because I would say he is sometimes too similar to myself at least until this page. Answers I’m trying to find in this book are clearer in my mind. Almost within my grasp.

“How did this conversation turn so dark all of a sudden?”
“It started with the business about the bras,” I said.
Midori is really funny. But I don’t think Tori can see her as something more.
Double love for Midori

Part of book:
"She was like a small animal that has popped into the world with the coming of spring. Her eyes moved like an independent organism with joy, laughter, anger, amazement and despair. I hadn’t seen a face so vivid and expressive in ages, and I enjoyed watching it live and move.”

Naoko I think this is the first time that I kinda understand you without a doubt. Maybe from twenty one years of my life I can sew few fragments of your face

Part of book:
"When autumn ended and cold winds began to tearing trough the city, Naoko would entwine her arm with mine, or cram her hand in my pocket. I felt sorry for Naoko. My arm was not the one she needed, but the arm of someone else. My warmth was not what she needed, but the warmth of someone else. I felt almost guilty being me.”

Sometimes Im scared of how on edge life can be. I think Murakami understand some part of me even I can’t understand.
What if you were joking that day Kizuki.
Would they feel wronged?
And what about you would you feel betrayed by yourself?

I feel strange mix of emotions and dejavu when Tori talks about Kizuki. My heart is beating faster and faster but I don’t know who should be the person I’m thinking about…

Love is full of foolishness. Frail boat in the middle of the ocean hoping it could repair itself before storm without knowing which hole is leaking the most.

“”But nobody can find it. So make sure you don’t fall off the path.”
“Don’t you worry,” she said. “You‘ll be ok. You will never fall into the well. And as long as I stick with you, I won’t fall in, either.”
“Never?”
“Never!”
“How can you be so sure?”
“I just know. I know these things. I just feel it.”
