I always saw it as Arin being one of the first people who doesn’t make her hate physical touch. It’s not a contradiction, it’s a rare exception. It’s meant to show there’s something different about him. She might despise him, but that doesn’t mean her body automatically rejects his touch; that’s not always how it works. I don’t think it’s bad writing or inconsistency, it’s a subtle way of showing their connection without spelling it out.
@kaylee yeah except this happened on like their second time meeting. I’d agree with you if we were further along in the series and they’d established a friendship based on trust, but the way this was written is just lazy
