I’m probably in the minority here, but I’m really struggling with this one. The mystery feels weird, and I’m not happy with Diem and Tallus as a couple in this book so far.

I felt the same way. Even had no problem putting the book down to read something else.

Same 😅 first time with one of Nicky’s detective/cop series. I literally couldn’t put the others down, especially while listening to the audios narrated by NJR
@Snjez And as for the mystery: I’m really not into this OTT James Bond/mafia like thingy here. In the previous books, I loved that the cases felt real to a certain extent. Here… wtf is this? I don’t feel like I really care or emphasise…
Yes, exactly! I'm not into this type of mysteries, either, anything mafia related is a 'no' for me. I really liked the ending, it's what made this book a 3-star read for me, but I can't say I enjoyed reading it for the most part. 😬 Looking forward to your final thoughts, Cat! And sorry for not being more positive and supportive about this. 😅
