He was choosing her, she realized. This boy who saw exactly who she was - what she was - and didn't care. Or rather: cared so much, he wanted to give her back what the revolution had taken.

I just love Alex so much. <3 He's so precious and he'd be so good for Rune. This boy is so kind and has a heart of gold. Alex please never change.

Those two are such fools. They'll fall in love and then what?! *lol* This is bound to end in a tragedy. Mark my words because I'm sure the ending of this is going to be a brutal cliffhanger. Just warning my future self. ;-P

On instinct, Gideon stepped back.
She froze, biting her lip, as if sensing his distress but not knowing how to ease it."

Okay, those last couple of chapters were suspenseful. O_o Also the duality of Gideon is stunning. He's so vulnerable and anxious, yet at the same time he's a formidable witch hunter and can be extremely ruthless.

Taking her chin gently in his fingers, Gideon turned her face toward his. His eyes were intense, his breathing shallow and uneven.
"Rune," he said, pupils dilating. He looked hungry suddenly. Like a man who hadn't eaten in years. "Less talking."

I really like their chemistry and their cunning minds. This is the first enemies-to-lovers romantasy after a long time I actually enjoy. =)

"She didn't fake the awe in her voice. Rune might despise him for what he'd done, but that didn't mean she wasn't impressed by the courage it had required."

There's a dark secret Gideon never told anyone, isn't there? You don't just do what he did without a good reason and it's already been hinted at more than once. If what I'm assuming is the truth I feel so sorry for him. >_<

She turned her back on Alex and was about to walk away when his strained voice said, "I'm sick of watching you walk into danger."
She paused, sighing as she stared out into the empty foyer.
"Then don't watch."

I sense a love-triangle, a strong brotherly bond and a broken boy. Okay, this is going to be interesting.
