I am saddened by his story but gained strength through his strength that he never crumbled and gave up hope. I admired his willingness to have went to practicing medicine. I also admired his unselfishness.

What do you do when life gives you a choice that you have no control over?
No one asked to have cancer. Cancer can caused setbacks to your career path and family. It can caused diversion.
