A wonderful slow burn... Not much really happens as much as events and information unfold.

Although the dinner chatter in chapter 21 was maddening. It felt like filler, a delay tactic. I suppose it was meant to be the pause for the reader to feel that things would be fine.

Frankly, both Rebecca and Maxim seem like insufferable _____!

Despite nothing "happening", I am engaged.

The book cover states, "The classic tale of romantic suspense." What! Rebecca is as much a romance as Wuthering Heights!

I've seen both films, but it was time to read the book.
