I kind of ship them. One makes magical talismans. The other is an exorcist. In literally any other series, they would already be in love. This just isn't the sort of series that cares about having a romance sub-plot. I think the Yamigami would let Saiga stay in the garden, as long as he keeps bringing tasty pastries.
