These were very difficult chapters to get through. I feel like I've been punched in the gut.

I laughed a little when Rasheed said that Laila's daughter was a warlord - he probably didn't mean it as a compliment like I thought it was!

Done with Part 2. Fariba doomed her daughter for the ghosts of her sons. If only they had left with Tariq's family.

It seems like we're getting chapters from Mariam's POV next. I was wondering how she was doing through Laila's chapters.

I know Fariba is grieving for her sons, but I can't help but resent her for how she lashes out at Hakim and neglects Laila.
