Great biography written in a Perfect style: the book does not loose itself in pointless descriptions about the artist’s work -
It could something briefly describe what and how he did a painting which is totally fine for my reading. By reading a biography I’m interested to know about the artist himself and not about his artworks (I believe as an artist that artworks should be interpreted by each person)

Massive biography of my favourite Artist. I’ve read on Van Gogh but this one exceeds all. It is a
Masterpiece of biography, clear and simple but complete. The book does not loose itself in pointless descriptions of the artist’s artworks - the book sometimes refers to information of the artworks but this does not disturb the overall storytelling of the history of the artist.

This is what call it a great artist’s biography. The language is so smooth and enjoyable that does not degenerate in pointless descriptions of the artists artworks. I like the way this book description Van Gogh life and career - of course they talk about his works but very shortly and with ready-to-see images. So this book is perfect to understand Van Gogh work!
