The book of Genesis is more tedious and more full of rape and incest than I remember.

Mark was the most enjoyable of the four gospels. It didn't have the heavy-handed agenda of Matthew or Luke, and it was more approachable than John. Of course being written first doesn't hurt either.

The Book of Ecclesiastes is by far the best book in the bible. It has a certain existential angst when considering the inevitability of death and the inability of men to leave a lasting and meaningful legacy. I just love that kind of stark honesty. Who isn't bothered by the fact that they are going to die someday? Anyway, thanks to Ecclesiastes for being a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale book.

The Book of Psalms is so tedious. Psalms all follow the same themes: 1) Please make things easy for me, god 2) Please smite my enemies, god 3) god, you're so awesome because you made things easy for me and smote my enemies 4) god, you're so awesome because [insert recap of story from Genesis here]. Take those four things, multiply them by 150, and you have the Book of Psalms. It could have been covered in one chapter

1 Chronicles has been the most boring book in the bible so far. Even Numbers had a talking donkey. All 1 Chronicles has is lists of names, and the story of how god killed 70,000 people because David had the audacity to take a census, which is, presumably, the source for many of the names listed in the book.

I've learned one thing: it's best to not get involved with god. He'll kill you for the most ridiculous and capricious reasons ever. Also, he gets mad when you don't absolutely massacre women and children. All in all, he's a really petty and vindictive dude.
