if i never have to read poetry which uses the word 'rhizomatically' again, i can die happy.
(also on a more serious note i really want some discussion of classism and necroplitics at this point, pls. do you know how expensive urns that dissolve in water are? just scatter those ashes on the water??)

truly this is an interesting book but the poetry makes me cringe

this chapter on the dead body intrigues me; her rejection of the folding of her partners hands got to me tbh. always love some kristeva-bashing.
im once again making it clear if anyone pays me to write a book about the dead body as object/human, i will do so, and i will try to include kristeva in less stinted, non-academic language <3

look im all for the combination of philosophy and poetry but this is not it. even more of a whiplash after finishing such a good collection of poetry about grief only yesterday, and now I'm hit with "When morning comes/I wake in panic/at the thought of all the things/ I initiated/wishing only to be alone/alone with you and my grief" like just because you can hit enter does not mean you can write a poem

what happens when you put me on an island with someone who can sleep until 11, meaning i have these long silent mornings with only coffee and the wind for company? apparently i decide its time to read some theory again. what better than 'death is vibrant' and a reconfiguration of mourning through algae and water. (i have not missed this weird stinted language of critical analysis however.)
