This book keeps trying to seem 'cool' by randomly referencing songs by Linkin Park or
Disturbed, but it's always super random and has nothing to do with the scene.

Like Heather has no character, but she keeps mentioning early 2000s metal bands.

In the second chapter Dan tackled Chain because he called Dan's mother "crazy." Dan even said, "My mom's sick. You wouldn't make fun of someone with cancer, would you?"

But now Dan joins a band and they decide the first song they should write will be "My Mom's a Psycho?"

I am not enjoying this book, or it's "discussion" of mental-health stigma at all.

Why did Dan tell his nine-year-old brother a bed-time story that included Dan describing their step-father's suicide? That's awful!

The school bully's name is "Chain" and his big insult is calling people "Nutbar?" Really?

I got this book for free recently, and I'm not entirely sure what to think about it. It's very small and so far kind of seems like an after school-special.
