So, I don’t normally read or enjoy true fantasy. Just finished a reread of the first LotR, and tbh I disliked it. I have had this (Way of Kings) book recommended to me innumerable times… Here’s hoping I like it. It’s 45h long so we’re about to be bffs for a week

If you like fantasy I think you’d probably have a better time! I’ve heard that this first book is all setup intentionally, with much more happening in the later books but…….idk I find 700 pages of setup a difficult price of entry into the series. It feels needlessly indulgent of the author 😣
