The story is interesting, I like the premise and world building
The writing is fucking awful. Ten adjectives to describe one thing, lyrical prose bordering on purple. Huge swathes of the book dedicated to overly describing stuff.
There was one point where he's dreaming about a market and it's literally just a long list of colours. Vermilion, chartreuse, dandelion, UGH
