I still can't believe what really happened. It feels too much like a nightmare and yet all too real. Donald Trump, President-Elect of the United States of America. How is this possible? How did so many Americans allow themselves to be duped? Talk about one helluva a hangover once reality finally sets in. What a sad state of affairs that we'd rather have a misogynistic rapist in the Oval Office than a woman.

Trump being in elected to office broke my faith in America today. I don't think I will ever be able to be proud of my fellow countrymen even if someone else gets elected in four years the fact that over a million people in America would rather have this person as president than anyone else makes me disgusted to be an American. I honestly still do not understand how any woman, minority, or anyone part of the LGBT community could have voted for him.

I know. As a white woman, someone who voted for Clinton but is automatically lumped in with the majority of all those idiotic white women who voted for Trump, I feel so ashamed of my age, my sex, my race, my nationality, all of it. I knew there was a backlash against women, especially women in power, but to see it culminate so vividly in this horrific act of "democracy" makes me feel sick. I understand I'm meant to be the bigger person, to follow President Obama's advice, suck it up and absorb the loss so that all of us may come together for the good of America, but right now, I really can't give a damn. Let America rot--after all, that's what it voted for.
