sigh i don't know what to do with this book. why is it so weirdly paced? can we go back to the main storyline already? i feel like this flashback, on top of being long as hell, isn't adding anything to the story. like yes it does have the Lovecraftian elements i wanted it to have, but it feels so disconnected from the main thing i just can't enjoy it :/
