IT HAPPENED! The first… unaliving. Finally!! I can’t stop reading now. We are in the midst of the burning action I’ve been waiting so many pages for. Goodness, I’m a sucker for books like these.

Now the plot it plotting, the plot is thickening! Now we’re onto the home stretch. The stretch where the action really takes place. This is what Emily excels at in her books, and her slowburns of course. This is the moment I’m always waiting for in the Never After books. It’s a shame one has to work in order to live, I want to read books. Jessica… You. You, I say with snakelike eyes.

I was walking around after having to fix my Daith piercing, looking at clothes… all inconspicuous. Then the spice came, and caught me off guard. Pretty sure my eyes were like dessert bowls. Okay. Time to practice the look. The «I’m not listening to anything special, really!»-look. No but seriously. The plot thickens. The uncle. The dad. ARIA WAS IN ON IT?! Somewhat unknowingly of course, I should’ve seen it.

I feel like we’re now mostly jumping more and more into what Enzo and Venesa are feeling for one another. They are the senter of attention. I feel like V’s uncle is starting to exclude her from business, so it’s definitely something shady going on right now. Something to do with Italians. This screams double crossed (Prelude to her next series perhaps??). Either way, I’m still enjoying it!

I am really enjoying it. I’m not at all seeing the «Ugh, it’s only physical attraction! It’s so superficial!!» vibe many people has got. I see two strangers - whilst yes, attracted to one another, also has major family complications, a lot in common with one another and… the cutesy beach scene. It took me back to a memory with my partner from years ago. I love their journey and thickening of plot thus far.

I’ve never really been one for audiobooks, but it is a comfortable way to get some reading done when doing other things. I mean… hello, tension! Goodness, Venessa, Enzo… it is to touch and feel. The tension in Hexed is a masterpiece. I think the plot is also starting to plot a little, I’m picking up bits and pieces now. Definitely rivalry and double crossing! … I think.

I have always enjoyed (mostly) the Never After books. This one is intruiging. I want to learn more about Enzo and Venessa. I’m not quite sure I like Aria - but again, even those who are supposed to be heroes in these stories are also the villains in this whole entire series. Yeah no, I dislike her. She’s a meanie. I can’t wait for the action to action. Emily is a master at that.
