Chapter Eleven:

Elizabeth turned away to hide a smile.

He began to feel the danger of paying Elizabeth too much attention.

Based on chapter eight, I unfortunately realize that I share something in common with Mr. Hurst: “when Mr. Hurst called them to order, with bitter complaints of their inattention to what was going forward.” I too get frustrated when playing a game and others talk and don’t pay attention to their turns.
