In my book, the 5th wave by Rick Yancey, there is some really interesting ways the author divides the story. The author has a prologue, which gives me a little but more of an understanding of the story. Also, into the book, I realized that the book is nit just one story, but many stories of people going through the same experience. This helps me understand the characters better, and I learn differences don't matter.

In the 5th wave by Rick Yancey, the author uses many different ways to tell his story. One way he tells the story is he divides the stories into sections. The different sections are different characters telling their point of view in what is happening. This gives me a new way to look at the story Another say he tells his story is he gives us a prologue to give us an understanding of the book.

In the book, the fifth wave, there was a lot of tragedies that Cassie has to consider. Cassie suffers a lot of loss in her family. She has to deal with her dad, brother and mother either missing or lost. She feels a lot off loss and emotion through this. In the outsiders, Ponyboy feels sadness too, because his best friends, Dally and Johnny, die. This is like a loss of family to Ponyboy. They both suffer with family.

The overall theme of the fifth wave is to enjoy what you already have, because it might be taken away sooner or later. Cassie learns this because she cherishes her family a lot, but pretty soon they all get taken away. She was sometimes annoyed by what they do but now all she wants to hear is her parents telling her what to do.
