The Assassin and The Desert, the third novella of this precious bind up, is the bomb! Better than the first three, for sure! Reading the entire twelve chapters took me at the edge of my sitting: so action-packed and emotional. The pacing and characters were all great and I can't wait to finish reading the last two novellas! Although I have to be honest, I'm not into the writing style yet. Soon, maybe.

I like this second novella more than the first one. Definitely an improvement in terms of pacing and thrill. I love that the author showcased girl power in this novella, a bond between two strong young women against the world's unfairness and violence. I'm hoping to finishing this book before this year ends and even books 1 to 5 if time would let me. URGH. Work is slowly devouring my reading schedules. SMH.

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord was good. It didn't blow my mind but still it's good for a novella. So far, I'm not liking the main character maybe because her arrogance is quite out of place. For the writing, it's detailed and dramatic and I like that. I also find Sam's character to be a tad inconsistent and it's bothering me right now. Anyway, I'll continue and I only hope for a better plot, a needed improvement.
