Emma Goldman is one of my personal heroes, but listening to these essays, I sometimes wonder if she imagined just how much violence would be used to repress leftist tendencies. At times she seems adamant that labor action will be the only thing necessary to start a revolution in the US, when in reality it will take much, much more than that. We will need a massive cultural shift before anarchism becomes viable here.

I will likely continue this book on audio--I'm already familiar with much of what Emma Goldman has to say, so I would rather just listen to this book than taking the effort to read it (I have a lot of other stuff to read at the moment)
