The main character of The Throne of Fire is Carter. He is a shy fourteen year old boy who has powers of the god Horus. He and his sister Sadie are trying to stop the god of chaos, Apophis, from destroying the world. They are trying to awaken the ancient god Ra to destroy Apophis but it is a tough task. They have to try and find all the scrolls to awaken him.

My book is similar to The Outsiders tragedies because the kids in The Throne of Fire lost their parents. Carter and Sadie are forced to face things without their parents and grow up on their own. Carter and Sadie feel the same way as Pony but they have to keep moving forward and do what their parents never got to do.

The author of the Throne of Fire describes each scene with great detail to help the reader understand what they are reading. Every character that is introduced is given many characteristic traits. The author puts great detail in saying whatever he wants to say. This helps him make the book exciting when at a dramatic scene and also drag the scene out to make the reader wait to see what happens when at high point.

The main theme of the book, The Throne of Fire, is courage and sacrifice. Sadie and Carter lead their poorly trained soldiers into battle. This shows lots of courage to believe in these other people and trust them. Carter and Sadie also sacrifice lots of their time to help train other kid soldiers even though Carter is only fourteen and Sadie only twelve. These examples show lots of courage and sacrifice.

This book is fun to read. It is set in New York and is very interesting. About the gods and Egyptians. Has a weird concept.
