Whenever this story gets into whatever is going on with the Chinese and the Jesuits I have a very hard time following but I enjoy reading it.

It’s taking me as long to read this as it took Pynchon to write it. I am once again rededicating myself to this book though because I really do think it’s great.

I just haven’t had the time/mental capacity to read this book over like the last month but I’m getting back into it. Pynchon rewarded me for my newfound dedication by treating me to the story of The French Chef and the Mechanical Duck.

Also I just wanted to say that Dixon is so cool. All he wants to do is eat food and fuck and he wants his buddy Mason to enjoy these things too.

The story of Dixon’s watch might be my favorite chapter yet.
