In this story, one of the minor characters was Bruno's dad. He also has some importance because the dad's job made Bruno's family move from Berlin, in a big house, to a place called Out-With, a beaten up house. Also, at Out-With Bruno meets a friend who is going to influence his life and everyday he ever is going to live. You will have to read this book to find out how his life is influenced everyday by a friend.

This book is about a boy named Bruno and his family whowere forced to move from a really nice place to a bad place where he has no one to talk or play with. This move is became of his dad's job, which I think is a nazi commander because of his badge. So Bruno met a boy that was wearing striped pajamas on the other side of a barbed wire fence while exploring. I will find out why he is on that side of the fence later.

Bruno cannot quite accept the fact that they had to move for his dad's job, but now he is bored and has no one to play or talk with.
