Coming off of finishing chapter 21 my stomach fucking hurts. I knew this was a rough chapter based on what I’d heard about the book, and the saddest part is that I was fine until Venka was found. The scariest and most stomach churning thing about her experience is that even though we know this is fiction, nothing about what she experienced is. Women are always seen as just bodies, and war only welcomes our abuse.
