When I had started to read the Bible I began in Genesis. This was all about how the world was like in the beginning. I kept reading and learned about the Israelites and how they made their exodus from the Egyptians. Later I came upon the story of Samuel and how he anointed Saul to be king of Israel. Overall this is so far a very interesting book and is recommended to read by me and many others.

When the king before David, King Saul, died it was sad to hear about. Even though he was looking to kill David and was easily seen as the bad guy, it was still sad to read about his death. Even David mourned for the death of Saul and everyone was saddened along with him. Showing that any death is a hardship and should be realized as a sad event that should not bring joy or emotionless feeling towards the life loss.

The multiple authors that create a picture of what had happened in these times describe every detail with complicated writing. Sometimes the sentences are so descriptive that I will have to look back at them to make sure I understand the concept. At times it can be hard to follow along, but I always end up understanding what is told to the readers by the descriptive uses of vocabulary, giving an option to think.

The overall theme of the book is that if you want to live a righteous life and follow Jesus than you will be saved from the pain of a horrible afterlife and end up in heaven for eternity praising the Lord and will never feel pain or sadness ever again. Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and repent from your sins you will be saved.

The character that caught my eye was the king after Saul who was king David. He ruled with an iron fist and conquered most of the known land he was very strong in the way that he ruled and was very obedient to God. There were times when he would sometimes sin against God, but he would always fell regret over the fact that he was sinful. Even when he was a kid he was courageous, he killed a lion and a bear on his own.
