In this scene Henry and Clare learn that something bad is going to happen to Henry in the near future. They know that there will be a lot of physical pain involved in his time traveling, but they do not know why. They do know that there is no way to prevent it. I predict that this is the beginning of the climax of the story and that this is going to change Clare's and Henry's lives. S and P

In this part of the book Clare and Henry go to a doctor. They want him to help them figure out why Henry time travels. I really like this part because of how it all plays out. It's almost too perfect how the doctor is looking the moment Henry disappears to convince home that Henry actually does time travel. F

While in a book store Henry notices that Gomez is staring at Clare in a very romantic way, even though he is there with his fiancé. I find it interesting how Gomez is able to be good friends with Henry and help him with his time traveling, yet have feelings for Clare. I predict that Gomez will either try to make a move on Clare, or he will at least confess his feelings for her. P

The title of the next section of the book is "A Drop of Blood in a Bowl of Milk." This title makes me predict that the married life for Henry and Clare is going to be nearly perfect except for one pretty important or bad thing. P

The moment when Ben asks Henry from the future if he is still alive really showed how Ben is living his life with AIDS. It was inspiring to see how Henry and Ben having been helping each other with their own medical issues and have always been there for each other. F

In this chapter Henry goes to the barber and gets his hair cut. His hair used to be long and nearly down to his shoulders. I think that this event is symbolizing how the big even that is occurring tomorrow is going to mark a huge transition point in the lives of Clare and Henry. Henry getting his hair cut is to show that he has become the man that Clare knew when she was a child. (I)

Celia got Clare to come out with Ingrid, and this cannot be good considering their history. I predict that the girls are going to get into a fight and Clare is going to possibly learn something about Henry that she did not before. P

At this point in the book Clare and Henry have some very big news to tell Clare's family, and they are both pretty nervous. I predict that either Henry is going to get stressed and time travel, or the conversation with Clare's parents is not going to go well at all. P

I'm a little confused at this point. While driving home from Christmas at her parents, Clare begins to cry and Henry does not know why. I'm also confused as to why she is crying because I thought for the most part everything went pretty well at her parents, other than the one fight. Q

At this point in the book, one of Clare's friends is questioning her about Henry. I predict that Clare might let out Henry's secret to her friends. I also predict that this is not going to bed the last time that people question Clare about Henry. P

I had no idea that life at Clare's house was so bad. This part of the book revealed a lot of family issues that Henry did not know about. All of this is shocking news to Henry and to me, and it explains a lot about who Clare is. F/S
