I could tell that an Indian wrote this. Even an NRI. The awkward but precise navigation around a language we’re told is not ours but given with generations of pain like a blood-stained murder weapon. It doesn’t help that it’s set in England.

This makes it hard to hold. Respite comes through shared steps via books we all love. Like the person holding that murder weapon is still trying to smile at you.
