To be perfectly honest, I started reading this book later than I should have this evening....but I haven't been able to put it down since. Nearly half-way through the book this, Looking for Alaska has a kind of pull to it that keeps you coming back, keeps you wondering what choices Pudge will make. ...strikingly different about this novel. I haven't quite figured out what it is yet, but this seemingly shallow cover of dorky boy making friends and becoming corrupted is about to get very deep very quickly. Hints of the true character of this book and it's message come out periodically, such as when Dr. Hyde askes Pudge to stay after class as he teaches him the importance of what he missed by not quite paying attention in class. I'm excited to see how this story ends and to discover what Pudge deciphers to be the Labyrinth and his Great Perhaps.
