This book is a bit of a chore, so far. The author seems to want to display his knowledge of military minutia rather than tell a story. There are glimpses of storytelling mixed in with volumes of jargon and needless description of military technology and endless background narrative that does nothing to advance the storyline. So far, this book should have been the author's notes; not the content of the book.
