"As wet as the climate in Seattle was, water evaporated up through the house like an oversize chimney, bringing mold and the smell of dirt with it." This is a logical comparison because Jason's life was a poor one and him living in a house with mold and the smell of dirt shows it. He choose this comparison to describe his life because he's been living in a pile of dirt. Nothing given to him is new.

I like my book "A List of Things That Didn't Kill Me" because when I first saw the title of the book, I knew it will contain many intense parts. The author shows me that his life has been a living hell for him and how he is trying to overcoming that negative part. I really like how the author includes many imagery and details in his descriptions. So far I would rate this book a 8/10 for now.

"When I was sixteen years old I came home from school one day and found my dad crawling around on the kitchen floor in a big pool of blood." This shows that Jason's dad is a bad influence for Jason because why would someone be crawling in blood. It shows a different side of character for his dad. He could be dangerous for Jason and everyone.

"What was that?" I asked
"That van got hit by the tire," Dad said. "The cab was crushed and the driver was killed."
"How could you tell?" I asked.
"It was obvious," Dad said.
"Wow," I said. "He was just driving along and --splat."
"Yeah," Dad said. "Sometimes that's how it happens."
This quote shows that Jason's dad is a cold blooded person because someone just died and he thinks its just a common thing.

I'm on page 50 of 432 of A List of Things that Didn't Kill Me and this book surprises me many times. Jason Schmidt's teen years was very challenging to him because his dad Mark does many bad things that has hurt the relationship of the family. One day Jason came home from school and witnessed his dad crawling around on the kitchen floor in a big pool of blood.
