Based on the plot in The Crossover, the statement, "It is common for every teenager to feel like an outsider sometimes" is supported in this book when looking at Josh's feelings. He has always been popular and the star of the basketball team, and everyone always wanted to be with him and talk to him. Now, all of the attention seems to be on his twin brother JB, and Josh does not like it. JB is dating the pretty girl,

passes away at the end of the book. I definitely could not think of a better title for this book, and I think it fits the book perfectly.

The title of my book is The Crossover. This is a good title because it can represent many themes that take place and have to do with the book. I think that the author chose this title because it is a move in basketball, and also relates to Josh's ability to play basketball, and at the same time create rapping verses, like "crossing over" between them. Also, Josh and JB's dad was known for his crossover, and he sadly

has an innate ability to create rhythmic rhymes like rap music, which helps him play relaxed and calm in the biggest games. Just that basic knowledge of the book alone was enough to persuade me into reading this book.

There also aren't any events in this book that are fantasized, and the whole story could easily occur in real life. Finally, there are many references to present day life, like the NBA and middle school, and it is a realistic fiction book.
